R. Edward Freeman is one of the most influential thinkers of our time. With his publication ‘Strategic Management: A stakeholder approach’ (1984) he built the floor for a paradigmatic shift in business strategies as well as in the public and scientific discourse on the fundamental goals and points of reference of business conduct. R. Edward Freeman’s Stakeholder Theory marks one of the most important contributions to modern business studies and still has large impacts on current business research as well as on management practice and stakeholder dialogues around the world.
