Call for Papers: "World Symposium on Social Responsibility and Sustainability"
The symposium takes place in Edinburgh, United Kingdom, at 27th – 29th of June 2018 and will focus on "how businesses and organizations can operate in a sustainable and socially responsible way", meaning that it will serve the purpose of showcasing experiences from research, field projects and best practice to foster social responsibility and sustainability, which may be useful or implemented elsewhere. To meet this aim, the peer-reviewed book “Social Responsibility and Sustainability: how businesses and organizations can operate in a sustainable and socially responsible way" will be published with all accepted papers as a further volume of the award-winning World Sustainable Development book series by Springer.
Further details and a flyer can be found at the HAW website.
"Sustainability and Humanities: linking social values, theology and spirituality towards sustainability"
The symposium takes place in the Canterbury Christ Church University, United Kingdom, at 8th of November 2017 and is being organised by the Inter-University Sustainable Development Research Programme, the World Sustainable Development Research and Training Centre and Canterbury Christ Church University in Canterbury, England.
There are strong links between sustainability and the humanities, which go well beyond the mere inclusion of the social sciences. Yet, the debate on the contribution of the humanities to a better understanding of sustainable development is not as intensive as it should be. There is also a paucity of events which have specifically focused on exploring the links between sustainability and humanities. As a result, interesting opportunities are being missed, and a holistic discussion on the intellectual and moral aspects of sustainable development is not fully taking place.

"Universities and Climate Change: The Role of Climate Change Research and Projects in Fostering Climate Action"
The Symposium takes place in London, United Kingdom, from 12th – 13th of December 2017 and will focus on the role of climate change research and projects in fostering climate action, and will contribute to the further development of this fast-growing field. It will involve researchers in the field of climate change in the widest sense, not only from traditional climate science, but also from the fields of environment, human geography, business and economics, arts, administration and media studies.
