Sustainability Challenge: Ways to a sustainable way of live
Vortrag mit Diskussion
Students of the Master program „International Business and Sustainability” (MIBAS) accomplished a so-called “Sustainability Challenge”, whereby a group of students formulated the goal to live more sustainable. The challenge consists of the categories “Living Challenge”, where the challenge is to not use plastics and minimize water utility. The “Fashion Challenge”, where the attention lies on reducing clothing consumption overall and/or switching to second-hand or sustainable fashion. The “Energy Challenge”, consists of minimizing the ecological footprint by reducing electricity and usage of transportation to reduce CO2 emissions. And the “Food Challenge”, where overall meat consumption and food waste is aimed to be reduced and food aimed to be bought regional, organic or Fairtrade.
The aim is to find out how a more sustainable way of living can be achieved and where the real challenges of sustainable consumption lie.
Implementation and findings of the Challenge will be presented and possibilities and challenges for a more sustainable way of living discussed.
