Below you find several recent announcements regarding sustainability in higher education:
Call for Papers: 4th World Symposium on Sustainability at Universities (WSSD-U-2018)
The World Symposium on Sustainability at Universities (WSSD-U) series is the world´s leading event on sustainability in higher education, attended by around 200 delegates from 30 or more countries each time, representing a variety of areas and disciplines. The next event, WSSD-U-2018, will be held on 28th-30th August 2018 in Penang, Malaysia, hosted by the Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM).
Abstracts are now being accepted. Further details are available at:

Location and date: Penang, Malaysia, 28th-30th August 2018
Call for Contributions: "Implementing Sustainability in the Curriculum of Universities"
In addition to the Symposium with the same title held at Manchester Metropolitan University, UK in March 2017, a book on the topic is now being produced. Contributions outlining works on sustainability in the curriculum are welcome and those interested to make a contribution should submit an abstract to info"AT"iccip.net until 25th May 2017. Further details will then follow.
Call for Papers: Symposium on "Sustainability and Humanities: Linking social values, theology and spirituality towards sustainability"
There are strong links between sustainability and the humanities, which go well beyond the mere inclusion of the social sciences. Yet, the debate on the contribution of the humanities to a better understanding of sustainable development is not as intensive as it should be. There is also a paucity of events which have specifically focused on exploring the links between sustainability and humanities. As a result, interesting opportunities are being missed, and a holistic discussion on the intellectual and moral aspects of sustainable development is not fully taking place.
It is against this background that the Symposium “Sustainability and Humanities: Linking social values, theology and spirituality towards sustainability” is being organised by the Inter-University Sustainable Development Research Programme, the World Sustainable Development Research and Training Centre and Canterbury Christ Church University in Canterbury, England. The Symposium will involve researchers in the field of humanities and sustainable development in the widest sense. Location and date: Canterbury Christ Church University, Wednesday, 8th November 2017
Symposium on Universites and Climate Change: Last minute abstracts accepted
Many universities across the world perform state-of-the art research on matters related to climate change, both in respect of mitigation, and in respect of adaptation. Yet, as shown at the 21st Conference of the Parties of the UN Convention on Climate Change (COP 21), held in Paris in December 2015, there is much room for improvements on the role played by universities in the negotiations and in influencing decision-making on a matter of such a global importance. The Symposium "Universites and Climate Change", which is hosted by Queen Mary University of London, and will held in London, UK on 12th-13th December 2017, will explore the links between universities, research and teaching on climate change. Last minute abstracts are being accepted.
