Studentische Konfliktberatung und Mediation
The project Studentische Konfliktberatung und Mediation (student conflict resolution and mediation) was initiated by a student group whose members have all completed training as mediators. Mediation is a structured, voluntary procedure for conflict resolution in which a neutral mediator with no part in the conflict assists the parties in conflict, offers ways to solve problems, and suggests methods that will help the parties in conflict to reach a joint agreement.
Counseling and mediation are free for members of Universität Hamburg.
KNU has provided funding for the project since the start of summer semester 2015. Additional trained mediators have expressed their interest in participating in the project. Internal advanced training sessions on a variety of methods are also being planned as part of the project.
